Bacon Culture was in pork effect today at Bacon Camp 2010 San Francisco at Chez Poulet, which may need to be renamed Chez Cochin unless Chicken John manages to air out the bacon goodness.
What is BaconCamp?
This is the home of collaborative planning for BaconCamp, a celebration of bacon in the spirit of BarCamp.
BaconCamp is an ad-hoc gathering born from the desire for people to share and learn in an open environment about bacon. It is an intense event with discussions, demos and interaction from participants who are the main actors of the event. It is community driven and everyone is encouraged to participate by presenting (food, art, demo), judging, or volunteering. BaconCamp is not a spectator sport.

A very scientific graph of the interest in bacon over time
The baconculture team was very lucky to attend a pig roast recently at the delightful Piccino in Dogpatch, San Francisco. The Pig was butterflied and slow roasted for 4 hours in a Chinese Box (La Caja China) and tasted absolutely fantastic, the cheek and crackling was amazing. Alas, so many people showed up that there wasn’t enough for everyone, but they plan to do it again soon with a bigger pig!
